This must be one of the most adorable child's chair I have ever seen!

This sweet chair dates to the 1940s and is made from the woven material which was very popular during that era. The scoop shaped back and sides are set on a wooden framework and holds the four wooden legs securely. The legs and leading edge of the back of the chair have a subtle gold paint on them over the creamy white of the woven material and wooden legs.

The seat is made from a durable and wipeable material, possibly plastic/vinyl, but with a softer feel to it. As for the delightful decoration - well, what can I say! The most appealing illustrations of colourful little pixies and elves at play cover the seat; they are seen playing leapfrog, banging a drum, riding a bike, sailing in a coracle, swinging on a swing, sitting on a toadstool - and more!!

The chair measures approximately 50cm high to the top of the back, the seat is 31cm wide by 29cm deep and the edge of the seat is 27cm from the floor. The condition is amazing - considering it would probably have been much loved and much used by a very lucky little girl or boy! Underneath, there is a handwritten note and it states: Cynthia d.o.birth 18/6/41. I gave the chair a wipe over as I prepared to photograph it but stopped short of scrubbing this off as I thought it was a lovely thing to find!

I don't know if this truly scrumptious little chair is a one-off but I have certainly never seen such a darling piece of vintage as this before!
