This is a gorgeous wool rug dating to the 1940s. It is a large, fireside rug and has a wonderful pattern of roses set against a two-tone green background which incorporates a linkage pattern, indicative of the era. There are two pretty rose clusters in each corner with a subtle trail of little flowers leading from each cluster.
The rug measures approximately 36" by 64". It is in excellent used condition with no fading. Some fold creases which should be apparent in the photos - but these will disappear with use. The rear of the rug has some staining etc.,and a loose piece of the hessian backing, but this does not show from the front. I understand it is possible to clean these rugs safely and effectively, although advice from a specialist should be sought.
These beautiful old wool rugs are a homely reminder of days long gone and the perfect way to bring the prettiness of the past into your home.
