This is a fantastic find! This pair of 1950s American curtains are made from a light, textured material of the barkcloth family and have a very rare and super cowboy pattern!
The background colour is a light, sandy taupe and is the perfect base for the marvellous print. There are cowboys on horseback, grappling with a bull, chatting by a wooden fence and attempting to lasso a young bull; really marvellous scenes! The colours are lovely - the red, blue and green of their shirts, jeans and bandanas are perfect with the browns and subtle greys.
Each curtain panel measures approximately 35" wide by 91.5" long. They have a single header tape which is 1" deep. They are unlined and have a small hem (I believe the hem has been let down in the past as there is a horizontal crease in the curtains towards the bottom. The colours really are wonderful; there is some slight fading to a couple of the horses, mainly towards the middle edge. This fading is very subtle and really does not detract.
This exceptionally rare design has been copied by modern day designers but what a wonderful thing to own the original. They are perfect for a boy's bedroom or den - even a fully grown 'boy' would be delighted with these!
