This is a beautiful pair of Sanderson curtains - the pattern name is Hykeham and they date to the 1940s.
The fabric is a nice heavyweight linen and the background colour is deeep and rich French blue. The pattern consisits of branches with roses and peonies, and other smaller flowers, trailing within them. The colours are exquisite - pretty painterly colours which are so typical of Sanderson prints from this era.
Each curtain measures approximately 58" across the top where they are slightly gathered and 65" across the bottom. They are 63" long. They have a 3" hem which is doubled over, so there is a good 5" available if needed. They are lined with a smooth, beige fabric. The condition is wonderful; I noted a couple of marks to the lining.
A really beautiful pair of curtains with colours and a richness which will add immense feature to your home!
