1940s Barbola Lady in Garden Firescreen (hw6141)

A striking and beautifully decorated wooden firescreen which dates to the 1940s. The screen has a typical art deco shape to it and stands on two sturdy wooden feet, with a wooden handhold at the rear. The screen is decorated with a raised wooden cut-out of a lady holding a parasol and incorporates pretty barbola work in the form of various flowers including hollyhocks and delphiniums. The work has been daintily handpainted in soft, pretty colours.

Add interest and beauty to your unused fireplace with this charming screen.

Measurements: The screen is approximately 28" high by 19.5". There are some small scratches to the top left hand side with a little bit of black paint loss, and minor age-related wear to the edges here and there. The barbola work and painted finish bears some age-related crackling.
