1930s Floral Duck Egg Chintz Window Pelmet (tx1103)

A delightfully pretty country house window pelmet dating to the 1930s. The scallop shaped pelmet is made from a pale duck egg chintz sateen cotton with a very pretty design of roses, honeysuckle, peony, cornflowers and bluebells in cartouches. It has a stiffened interlining, a sweet pom-pom trim, and the reverse is covered with a cream chintz. This is a wide pelmet suitable for a large window or it could be cut down to edge shelves or smaller windows. The fabric is believed to be an early Bernard Wardle design.

The pelmet is approximately 97" wide. It is 8" high at each end. The maximum height of the scallops is approximately 7" to 7.25". In very good condition - no wear. It has some minor markings and light, overall discolouration from age - the pelmet could probably be professionally cleaned to brighten it, if necessary.
