Embroidered Sanderson Seat Cover (tx1149)

This is a handmade vintage cover - originally intended for a headboard but its design easily lends it to a seat pad cover. The fabric is a very pretty 1940s rose and floral cameo Sanderson chintz on an oyster coloured background, which has been embroidered with a squiggle stitch around the cameos to emphasise them. The reverse has the same fabric without the embroidery and a cut out section at either side (where the struts of the headboard would be aligned.) The cover has cotton tapes for tying the cover closed, so it would work very well as a bench seat cover, especially as it also has a light cotton wadding inside.

The cover is approximately 40" wide by 14" high. In very good condition.
