Beautiful 1940s Floral Linen Bedspread (astb412)

A magnificent bedspread dating to the 1940s. It is made from a Bernard Wardle fabric and the name appears on the selvedge on the reverse side. The design of glorious cottage garden flowers set against a crackle-pattern design is quite exquisite. It is edged with piping and has a valance on three sides. This is a double size bedspread with a very deep valance which means it can be used with antique beds (such as the one in the photos) which are high off the ground.

English cottage garden splendour at its prettiest.

The bedspread is approximately 54" wide between the valance. It is 72" long excluding the valance. The valance is 25" deep. In excellent condition, no wear or fading. The valance is split at the two bottom corners and a short length of stitching has come undone at one corner.
