Pretty 1930s Handsewn Patchwork Quilt (astb441)

This is one of the prettiest vintage patchwork quilts we have seen for a long time. This stunning quilt is entirely hand stitched and made using the tiniest hexagons in a wonderful variety of dainty patterned, plain and floral cottons mostly dating to the 1930s, some date to the 1920s and others to the early 1940s. The patterned cottons are interspersed with a plain green cotton, also in the tiny hexagons, and the green is that perfect shade of green which is reminiscent of the era. The reverse of the quilt is backed with a very pretty pale lavender cotton which also shows as the edging, which is decoratively formed into a scalloped shape. This is a true vintage beauty which must have taken someone an incredible amount of hours to create.

If you don't want to hide this away in a bedroom, it would bring much homespun beauty to a living room or hallway if displayed over a chair, sofa or blanket box. The quilt is approximately 75" by 85". In very good condition. A couple of the hexagons edges have come undone and there is a small hole on the plain reverse fabric. The quilt is quite clean and unfaded.
