Superb Antique Floral Rose Quilt (astb460)

A gorgeous quilt dating to the 1930s. The quilt was made in the 1930s and bears its original label. The condition is excellent and the design quite beautiful. The deep rose pink of the plain areas co-ordinate perfectly with the superb decorative design of roses, cosmos and anemones amidst a wonderful paisley pattern. The design sits against a muted cream background so the overall look is one of warmth and beauty. It is made from cotton (and retains a good deal of its original glaze) with a zigzag stitched pattern running the full length. It has a very light wadding in between the two layers and the label states it is fully washable. The quilt is reversible with one side having a plain border, plain central diamond and decorative body, and the other having a decorative border and central diamond with a plain body. The exceptionally good condition of this quilt means it is perfect for use or display.

A superb example of an antique quilt in wonderful colours and a very pretty design. The quilt is approximately 72" by 88" and will fit a double bed or drape to the floor on a single bed. There is no wear or fading. A couple of very small and faint marks to the plain border.
