Wonderful 1940s Crazy Patchwork Quilt (astb520)

This is a superb vintage patchwork quilt, worked in a crazy pave design with decorative handstitching. There are a myriad of wonderful, colourful cotton fabrics including stripes, spots, paisleys, flowers, abstract patterns, London scenes, horses, hearts, stars and delightful dachsunds! The fabrics date from the 1940s and early 1950s. The quilt was made into a cover and has a warm 1940s utility blanket inner with a floral cotton as the backing. There is an opening at the top for a quilt to be inserted but it can be used as it is as a bed or sofa cover.

Truly a one of a kind vintage patchwork with cheerful, colourful and pretty fabrics. The quilt is approximately 60" wide by 77" long. In very good condition for its age. There are a handful of small, light marks but these are disguised in the patterns. It has been stored for decades and has some general storage markings and may benefit from a light clean due to surface dustiness etc., but overall in lovely condition for age. Some of the original basting stitches are still in place but could be removed if desired.
