Exquisite 1930s Floral Squiggle Stitch Quilt (astb525)

This is a truly beautiful vintage quilt dating to the 1930s. It is made from a delightful chintz cotton adorned with honeysuckle, dahlias, tree poenies, iris and tulips. The flowers sit against a sublimely pretty pale shade of green and enhanced by the decorative squiggle stitch which was popularised in this era. The quilt has a wide scalloped edge and the reverse is covered in a deep cream coloured cotton. It has an inner cotton batting which ensures the quilt is nice and light. A true beauty from an elegant era. The quilt is approximately 82" by 96". In excellent condition for age. Some minor discolouration at edges. Small markings mainly to reverse (some to front, but overall quilt in great condition for age and could laundered) and one very tiny hole on an edge.
