1920s French Boy and Dog Hat Stand (hw1229)

A very rare and delightful antique painted wooden hat stand in the form of a young boy and his dog. The main body of the hat stand is painted a wonderful shade of green and the figures, painted in subtle shades, co-ordinate perfectly. This French hat stand is delicately proportioned, typical of the earlier type.

This will make a special addition to a collection of antique and vintage hat stands. The stand is approximately 24.5cm high. It has age-related wear and markings as seen. Two tiny pins hold the figure to the shaft and the pin at the bottom has been set in at an angle so the point protrudes a little at the rear - due to this there is slight movement in the cut-out but this does not affect use or display.
