1940s Green Arrow Metal Dairy Cabinet (hw1304)

This is an absolutely wonderful and rare find! It dates to the 1940s and is a metal dairy cabinet or 'safe' made by the Green Arrow company of England. It has a soft cream finish with decorative diamond patterned air holes or vents, on both sides and the front. The door, with its original green plastic handle, opens up and out to slide back into the top - an essential space saver for many small kitchens. Inside, it has a removeable shelf with space for half a dozen eggs. The cabinet is designed to hang on the wall, thereby saving space (the design of the door reflects this) but it will also stand atop a counter or table top. The company's name is embossed on the reverse of the cabinet and displayed on a green and gold label inside.

An essential piece of vintage kitchenware for the 1940s kitchen. The cabinet is approximately 13.5" high and 17" wide by 11" deep. It is in excellent condition for its age and shows far less wear than expected considering its intended daily use and maturity!
