1930s Embroidered Iris Box (hw1357)

A really lovely old box which dates to the 1930s. The box is covered with a gold coloured leatherette type material which is lavishly embroidered with a purple iris and buds, with delicate shaded green foliage. The lid opens in a book form to reveal the interior. This may have been a stationery box or perhaps once held perfume or toiletries as it does have a delightfully fragrant interior!

This pretty box has a myriad of uses and will display beautifully. The box is approximately 20cm by 13.5cm by 3.5cm. In excellent condition for age with some minor markings/darkening to the reverse edge.
