19thC French Wrought Iron Toy Bed (hw1365)

A really delightful, hard to find French antique toy bed. The bed is handmade from wrought iron and dates to the late 1800s to 1900. It has attractive scrolling, curled feet and its original wire mattress base. The bed has an olive-taupe painted finish and comes with a handmade blue stripe ticking mattress, which may date slightly later than the bed. Little bear and bunny not included!

Handmade antique toy beds of this design are very hard to find and this superb example will look wonderful displayed with old dolls, small bears and tiny linens etc. The bed is approximately 7.5" at the highest, 10" long and just over 5" wide. There is some wear to the painted finish. The bed frame has a little bit of a twist to it whereby one of the feet stands off the ground. This does not affect its use or appeal and could be gently adjusted if necessary.
