French Needlepoint Roses Chair (hw1403)

An elegant vintage French needlepoint chair in the Louis XV style (1700s.) This beautiful chair has a decoratively carved, grey painted wooden frame with cabriole legs, pretty carved, painted flowers and leaves, and gold painted accents and pinlining. The needlepoint work is superb, with blowsy roses, dainty blue flowers and scrollwork, within a cream background surrounded by a glorious shade of soft, golden ochre. The needlework extends to the arms for added comfort and is edged with antique bronze coloured upholstery studs to complete the fine detailing. The back of the chair has a panel of co-ordinating soft ochre velvet.

This magnificent chair is perfect for your bedroom, boudoir or feminine styled study. The chair is approx. 34" high at the back and just over 23" wide. The seat depth front to back is 18.5" and height of seat from floor is 17". In excellent condition within mimimal signs of use. The well sprung seat is firm, wide and comfortable.
