Beautiful Embroidered Poppies Mats (tx934)

A set of vintage woven raffia place mats or tray mats. The mats are oval shaped with a stunning design of hand embroidered poppies and foliage around the edge. The large flowers are depicted in pretty shades of pink and red cotton embroidery silks over a reticulated design. The embroidery is finely worked and highly detailed. There are 6 mats in the set so they can be used throughout the house, on lamp tables, dressing tables, trays and at the dinner table.

A striking and beautiful set. Each mat is approximately 15.5" by 11.5". One of the mats has marks on it but the others are clean. A couple of tiny breaks in the narrow stalks appear to have been repaired.
